Nokia has announced a further commitment to its key Kenyan partners in an effort to strengthen its distribution channels in the market.

In an initiative called Nokia Premium Partner Programme, the handset maker has recognized business owners of the top 100 Nokia retail partners in Kenya who have been supporting the achievement of its business, growth agenda and best practice.

“Nokia has the strongest distribution channel in Kenya today and this is because of the continued co-operation we have received from our partners across the country who ensure that our consumers are served on time. As we grow as a business and customer needs increase, we will continue to engage them and forge stronger ties with our partners so as to serve our market best,” said Kenneth Oyolla, Nokia’s East and Southern Africa general manager.

The Nokia Premium Partner Programme launch themed “Celebration of the Stars” has seen the high-achieving retailers being selected as authorised Nokia retail stores selling original phones and providing quality after-sales service and customer care. The programme legitimises the Nokia channel with original phones being sold that support the business in achieving its revenue growth. The Nokia partners were also awarded with certificates and appointed as Nokia anti-counterfeit ambassadors to support in the fight against counterfeit phones.

Nokia has backed its anti-counterfeit campaign by bringing into the market phones and accessories such as the Nokia X2-01 and more recently their new range of dual SIM phones, the Nokia X1-01 and C2-00 that are more affordable but ensure that consumers get to enjoy their mobile experience fully.

Currently, about 1.3 billion people connect to one another with a Nokia device, from the our most affordable voice-optimized mobile phones to advanced internet-connected smartphones sold in virtually every market in the world while the firm’s Ovi – www.ovi.com- people get to enjoy access to maps and navigation on mobile, a rapidly expanding applications store, a growing catalogue of digital music, free email and more.
