Kenya is set to host a conference about the world’s most popular blogging software WordPress, an event that will bring together developers, designers and users for talks and workshops related to publishing on the web.
The event, dubbed WordCamp Kenya 2011, is scheduled for November 12 and 13. To attend participants will have to pay $ 29 (Kshs 3000) for advance tickets while late registrations will cost $ 38.5 (Ksh.4000).
WordCamp Kenya 2011 will have a host of speakers (including WordPress founder), who will be putting into perspective what it means to be a content creator, going into details on the benefits of using the WordPress platform as well as how to make money though bake.or.ke and other channels.
Internet connectivity at the Wordcamp will be provided by Safaricom with the mobile service operator also be giving $ 4.8 (Kshs 500) to all participants for mobile data.
In terms of entertainment, the night camp will feature fireside poetry session, where participants will have an opportunity to meet and interact with some of the country’s budding poets.
