Telkom Orange’s mobile network to undergo upgrade tonite

Telkom Orange has announced that it will from today midnight (00:00hrs) till 3am undertake a system upgrade on its mobile platform, during which times various services for subscribers in Nairobi and adjacent areas.

A statement from the firm and signed by chief executive Mickael Ghossein reads:

“Orange wishes to inform its esteemed customers in Nairobi that we will undertake a system upgrade on our Orange Mobile platform from 0000 hrs – 0300 hrs, Tuesday, April 3, 2012. During this period, customers in this region will not be able to access 2G, 3G and SMS services on the Orange Mobile Network. This upgrade is aimed at increasing capacity and throughput (volume of data sent at any given period of time).”

The upgrade will affect voice services within Nairobi and its environs including Athi River, JKIA, Machakos, Eastlands, Nairobi’s CBD, Thika, Kajiado, Garissa and Namanga.
