US-based EMC2 is set to host an exclusive IT Transformation seminar event titled “Cloud Transforms IT – Big Data Transforms Business”, during which it will share insights on the importance of IT infrastructure transformation for organizations in Kenya.
The IT Transformation seminar, set for Thursday August 9, 2012 at the Serena Hotel, Nairobi, targets more than 150 delegates.
Cloud computing is currently recognized as key to transform IT, deliver maximum possible IT efficiency and make it possible to store, manage and analyze today’s exponentially-growing data volumes.
The IT transformation seminar will be followed on Friday August 10 by an EMC2-driven CSR activity where volunteers from the firm will carry out a series of community outreach activities in the Kibera slums area of Nairobi.
The whole-day event will comprise the painting of the Kibera Community Development Centre (KCODA) premises and, to complement the renovation activity, an environmental clean-up activity in the Soweto West Kibera area. Already, 25 EMC2 employees from Nairobi, Dubai, Egypt and the United States have directly donated their time to effect both aspects of this community outreach.
