Airtel has launched Airtel Games Club, a flat-fee mobile gaming subscription service offering unlimited premium mobile games at competitive prices through a partnership with Nazara Technologies.

The initiative taps into Nazara’s portfolio and enables Airtel’s customers to download premium mobile games such as “FIFA 14”, “Need For Speed”, “Bejeweled” and more from the global major mobile gaming publishers.

The Airtel Games Club is currently available in Kenya, Tanzania, Nigeria, Ghana, Uganda and Zambia and by Year end will be available in all of its subsidiaries in Africa.

“With over 50% of its population below the age of 25, Africa is the world’s youngest continent. This partnership with Nazara Technologies fits seamlessly with our ambition of making airtel the most preferred brand by the youth in Africa. The airtel games Club initiative ensures that all the gaming needs of our young customers will be met”, said Andre Beyers, Airtel Africa chief marketing officer.

“Nazara’s longstanding partnership with airtel, and its physical presence in Africa, allows us to truly understand what the end user wants on his mobile. We design our services and optimize content specifically for mobile games, offering users a broad portfolio of quality games that are easy to download and pay for,” said Savio Saldanha, CEO of Nazara Technologies in the Middle East & Africa region.

Nazara Technologies, based in United Arab Emirates, operates unique mobile gaming services such as “Games Club” and also serves as an exclusive distributor for key game developers such as Electronic Arts in the Middle East and Africa. Its customers include mobile carriers as well as handset manufacturers. Nazara also owns “Playcaso” – an iOs and Android developer/publisher brand, “NZLabs” – a work-for-hire apps studio & “GCity” – a social gaming platform
