The new year has began on a sour note for Airtel Kenya after its key marketing staff moved from Mombasa Road to join rival Safaricom on Waiyaki Way.
According to HapaKenya, those poached are Charles Wanjohi, Airtel Kenya’s former Marketing Director who has joined Safaricom as the head of Consumer Segments Marketing.
Then there’s Marion Wanyoike, who has left her previous role of Head of Youth, Campus and Mass Consumer Segments in Kenya at Airtel Kenya and assumed the new role of Senior Manager – Youth Segment, at Safaricom.
Airtel Kenya’s former manager for Brand Assets, Experiential and Digital, Muthoni Maingi has also moved to Safaricom to take on the role of Digital Manager while Wallace Chege who used to work in Airtel Kenya’s Marketing Department as a Data Analyst has joined Safaricom in a similar capacity.
Airtel Kenya is yet to announce any replacements for the vacant positions.
