Safaricom’s former head of corporate affairs, Nzioka Waita, has been named deputy Head of Public Service and deputy State House Chief of Staff in changes announced y the government today.
In his new role, Mr Waita – who joined the government in April last year as Secretary for Delivery, in the Office of the President – will now deputise Joseph Kinyua, the Head of Public Service.

As the Head of Public Service, Mr Kinyua currently serves as Head of the Civil Service and coordinates Cabinet affairs and programmes.
At Safaricom, Waita was mostly involved with issues dealing with management of the telco’s engagement with various stakeholder groups, regulators and government.
Apart from Waita, the government also announced the appointment of Christopher Aubrey Foot as chairman of the Kenya Film Commission Board.
