The second Indo-Africa ICT Expo and Forum will be held on September 1 – 3, 2016 at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi, Kenya.
The theme for this year is ‘Digital Dreams of Developing Nation’. As such, the conference seeks to find solutions to the challenges faced by the ICT and telecommunications industry in Africa and India.
The event is organized by the Government of India, in conjunction with IT & Telecom Summit in which the Kenya Ministry of ICT and ICT Authority as the event’s host partners. Other partners include India ICT Industry body NASSCOM and Telecom Equipment and Services Export Promotion Council (TEPC).
The 3-day event will attract over 2000 visitors and bring together over 300 ICT companies from Africa and India. It will provide an opportunity to explore areas of collaboration between the two trading partners and bring together thought leaders, policy makers, manufacturers and other professionals in the ICT and telecommunications sector to discuss solutions to regulatory and business challenges.
Key highlights of the event will be the ICT Ministers Roundtable Meeting on September 1, 2016 as well as Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings on September 3, 2016.
This year’s forum will consist of 5 components namely: conference/panel sessions which will take place on the first 2 days where experts, policy makers and senior executives will discuss on trade barriers that exist in the sector and how to unlock them for mutual benefit; Exhibition for technology companies and startups to showcase their innovations and products/services to walk-in delegates; Business to Business (B2B) Meetings (pre-scheduled meetings involving foreign buyers of ICT and telecommunications equipment/services with suppliers/providers of such products or services taking place on Day 3 of the Expo) and Inter Ministerial roundtable meetings where ICT Ministers from more than 10 African nations will present on the DIGITAL DREAMs of their respective countries highlighting short, medium and long term plans.
Broadly, the Expo will have a special focus on: ICT hardware solutions in mobile telephony; Network Infrastructure; Solar and energy; Broadcasting communication equipment and devices and finally, Software solutions and ICT training solutions.
