Bethwel Opil, who has been Kaspersky Lab’s Channel Sales Manager for East Africa since early 2012, has left the IT security firm to join Westcon as Regional Sales Manager for East Africa.
Opil joined Westcon in sales, operations, related administrative services, and support functions for the region. In his new role, he also manages, directs, and coordinates all activities including sales, service, special events, and functions. Ensures that personnel are efficient and effective.
He joined Kaspersky Lab in February 2012 was for almost 5 years in charge of the company’s overall channel strategy and development activities for in the region. According to his professional profile, he had various milestones at the firm, including growing Kaspersky brand to be the market leader in IT security software in East Africa and also being awarded the best idea presentation topic “Double the company revenues by 2017” during the strategic session held in Moscow, Russia at the firm’s headquarters in 2015.
Prior to Kaspersky Lab, he was the Head of Sales and Marketing at Isolutions Associates (ISOLS). An IT industry veteran, Opil has also had stints at Telkom Kenya, Zain Kenya (now Airtel Kenya) and Safaricom where he began his career.
