Tigo Tanzania has launched Tigo app, a convenient mobile app that provides an easier way to buy Tigo bundles, top up customers’ accounts, check account balance and most importantly, keep track of data usage. The company has also updated its Tigo Pesa App, further simplifying the way its customers conduct their mobile financial transactions.
While launching the app, Tigo Head of Digital Services, Tawonga Mpore said: “Both the Tigo Pesa and Tigo Applications are innovations that make life easier and more convenient to our customers. All our customers need to access the App is just to have a Tigo registered SIM card/number, a Smartphone with iOS or android operating systems. All they have to do is to download the APP for the respective platform and follow the simple instructions to start using the APP. No need to remember all the short-codes to do a transaction. It is also a very useful tool to control your spending especially with data packages”.
Mpore added that Tigo is also re-launching an improved Tigo Pesa App that enables users in the country to access their Tigo Pesa wallet much more conveniently and in a much simpler way than ever before. Consumers can send money from any network, pay bills, transfer to bank, top-up and cash-out, all from the comfort of their smartphones.
Speaking on the enhanced Tigo Pesa App, Tigo’s Head of Financial Services Ruan Swanepoel said: “Smartphone users in the country can continue enjoying their usual Tigo Pesa transactions much faster and easier with the newly-improved Tigo Pesa App.”
Swanepoel added: “You can now view all your contacts stored on your phone when choosing to send money via the Tigo Pesa application as well as saving your regular payments and bank transfers for quick access in future.”
He said with the re-introduction of this application – known as Tigo Pesa App – a customer will not be charged for data, which is the same for the Tigo App when accessing the application on the Tigo network. Customers will also be able to access their Tigo Pesa wallet from anywhere in the world through Wi-Fi or any mobile data connection available as long as they have a registered Tigo Pesa account.
“Another benefit that this application brings to mobile financial account holders in the country is giving them the ability to easily access and conveniently manage a single wallet from multiple devices,” the financial services head concluded.
