The Bloggers Association of Kenya (BAKE) has announced the Call for Entries for the BAKE Awards 2017. As is the custom, this also coincides with the launch of the submission phase of the competition.
The annual blogging competition, which is in its 6th year, is the first of kind and it celebrates the best of Kenyan blogging.
The competition begins today, Monday January 9th 2017, and BAKE is from now accepting submissions in the various categories. Thereafter, judges will decide on the best 5 nominees from the submitted blogs which will then be subjected to a public voting exercise culminating to this year’s gala event on May 13th 2017.
The timeline this year is as follows:
1. Submission phase – January 9th 2017 to February 10th 2017
2. Judging phase – February 11th 2017 to February 28th 2017
3. Online voting – March 3rd 2017 to May 1st 2017
4. Winners’ Gala Event – May 13th 2017
BAKE has included a new category this year – i.e. Best Lifestyle Blog – which means that the total number of categories is now 20. After feedback from the blogging community, BAKE has also introduced a rule that makes three-time (or more) winners in the awards ineligible to compete in the same category.
