He is by no means new to the company, with his experience within LG spanning over 20 years having held various positions including product manager for home appliance in Indonesia, Panama and Columbia. He also played a key role in the restructuring of LG’s subsidiaries in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. Additionally, Mr. Chung is also credited for developing and implementing the three subsidiaries’ successful turnaround strategy in 20018.
“We are delighted to welcome Mr. Chung to Kenya and look forward to using the breadth and depth of his experience to take our business to the next stage,” said Kevin Cha, President Middle East and Africa.
Mr. Chung replaces Mr. Tae-ick Son who has been at the helm since 2014. He now takes up a bigger role in West Africa.
While recognizing the significant contribution of the outgoing MD, Mr Cha added: “We would also like to thank Mr. Son for his dedication and hard work. Son has indeed played a significant part in the development of our Kenya office as part of LG’s global presence.”
Chung added: “LG has a deserved reputation for providing innovative and customer-centric solutions. We will continue bringing our strong business values and superior quality products to match the demands and rightly high expectations of our customers. I am excited to be on board and part of the great team that will take LG business in the East and Central Africa region to the next level.”
