It adds up to the galaxy of Huawei smartphones introduced in the market this year appealing to the tech-savvy and socially fashionable youth.
According to Mark Hemaobin, GM, Huawei Mobile Kenya, the GR3 2017 entry gives the technology firm the drive to increase its smartphone sales in the country by at least 50 percent.
“Huawei is proudly offering its loyal customers in Kenya with Huawei GR3 2017, a smart phone specially designed for the tech and fashionable who place a premium on emphasizing their individuality,” said Hemaobin.
And added: “We are confident that customers will love our new product thanks to eye catching appearance, powerful processor, amazing camera and a number of unique features.”
Covered with a 2.5D curved glass and a 12 MP large-pixels camera, a productive Kirin 655 processor, 3 GB RAM and 16 GB storage capacity, a 128GB micro SD card and the new EMUI 5.0, the device is billed to provide an enjoyable camera experience and faster performance.
According to the global results Huawei’s Consumer BG shipped 139 million smartphones during 2016, raking in US$25.9 billion in annual revenue, up 44 percent.
Huawei’s smartphone market share increased to almost 15 percent in Africa according to GFK data generated in December.
Attributing the year-on-year trajectory partly to innovative products and growing premiumization, Hemaobin said Huawei brand user loyalty has been on the rise.
Data from IPSOS shows user loyalty for Huawei mobile brand, ranking it among the highest in the world with an average of 90 percent of Huawei smartphones users confirming they would purchase the brand again.
