Ashley Jacobs, a Cisco systems engineer, to speak at SAICSIT conference in South Africa


The Department of Information Technology at the Central University Technology and the Department of Computer Science and Informatics at the University of the Free State, will host the 2017 annual Conference of the South African Institute of Computer Scientists and Information Technologists (SAICSIT) in Bloemfontein, Free State, South Africa from September 26 – 28, 2017.

The conference will be an informative event, focusing on research and development in computing and Information Technology (IT). It will draw attendees from the fields of Computer Science (CS) and Information Systems (IS) in the industry, research and academia.

This year’s theme is: ‘Computing for Humanity in Today’s World’ and all the papers will be peer-reviewed while the accepted papers will be published in the proceedings ACM Digital Library (DL).  Follow the link below for more

Among the key speakers are Prof Ulrich Klauck, a visiting professor at Central University of Technology Free State; Ashley Jacobs, a Systems Engineer for Cisco Systems based in Johannesburg, South Africa and Prof Robert Davison, Programme Leader of the MSc in E-Business and Knowledge Management at City University.

All submissions to SAICSIT should be in line with the areas of interest of SAICSIT, which are: computer science, information systems, information technology, software engineering and computer engineering (as defined by the ACM, AIS and IEEE-CS).
