Config to distribute Cambium Networks’ solutions in Francophone Africa

Cambium Networks, a global provider of wireless broadband networking solutions, has created a distribution agreement with Config, a value-added distributor.

Under the agreement, Config – which has developed a network made up of hundreds of trusted Value-Added Resellers – will act as a distributor for the whole of Cambium Networks’ wireless networking portfolio, including core products ePMP and cnPilot.

Cambium Networks’ proven Point-to-Point (PTP) series solutions are deployed worldwide, serving highly critical applications in formidable environments for the world’s most demanding users. With best-in-class, real-world performance and FIPS 140-2-approved security available for government and military applications, the PTP series provides a connection to what matters, no matter what.

These products will be offered by Config to its entire region, reaching Tunisia, Algeria, Switzerland and French-speaking Africa. Config’s initial target markets will include Value Added Resellers in IT security, networking, IP systems, IT outsourcing and video surveillance.

“Cambium’s portfolio of products is extremely impressive and perfectly addresses the needs of our markets, which include hospitality, education, healthcare, Wireless Internet Service Providers (WISPs) and video surveillance,” said Pascal Barascud, Regional Director at Config.

Cambium Networks has a strong point-to-point backhaul and point-to-multipoint distribution network heritage and an extensive portfolio of reliable, scalable and secure wireless narrowband and broadband platforms. These make it possible for all service providers and industrial, enterprise and government network operators to build affordable, reliable, high-performance connectivity.

The ePMP series of products enables network operators to provide high-speed wireless broadband service to business and residential customers. Applications supported include data and file transfer, voice, streaming video, and video surveillance. cnPilot offers a suite of 802.11ac and 802.11n wireless home network access points supported by cnMaestro to provide end-to-end lifecycle administration, remote configuration, monitoring, and upgrades.

“As a major player in the IT distribution market with more than 20 years of technological expertise, Config is an ideal partner for us as we expand across France and Africa,” said Fabien Garcia, Cambium’s Regional Sales Director for France and Morocco. “Config has a team of 10 sales engineers and 10 pre-sales engineers who are highly tuned to the wireless market. Cambium Networks’ considerable portfolio will allow Config to offer a new, complete end-to-end solution to their Value-Added Resellers.”
