Amir Kanaan, who was until recently the GM of Kaspersky operations in Middle East, has been promoted and will now oversee the IT security firm’s operations in Africa, Middle East and Turkey (META).

In his new role, Amir is responsible for strengthening Kaspersky Lab’s leadership in the region by strategically promoting the company’s vision of spreading cybersecurity awareness on a national level. While also promoting Kaspersky Lab’s award winning business and consumer products as well as the company’s Threat Intelligence services. He replaces Maxim Frolov, who has taken over a bigger portfolio as the VP of global sales for the company.
Prior to his new posting, Amir held the General Manager position for the Middle East at Kaspersky Lab from 2016 to 2018, during which he played a vital role in positioning Kaspersky Lab as a market leader in its industry and contributed greatly to the company’s growth in the region.
Amir, who boasts of more than 17 years of managerial and sales experience in the field of IT Security, joined Kaspersky in mid 2016 from Bluecoat where he had held the Head of Sales position for over 3 years.
