The 2012 edition of UNCTAD’s Technology and Innovation Report will be launched in Nairobi on October 31, 2012 at United Nations headquarters in Gigiri. The report will be launched at 11am by Prof Oyebanji Oyeyinka of UN Habitat.
The launch has been organized by United Nations Information Centres (UNIC) for Kenya, the Seychelles and Uganda.
The report, subtitled “Exploring the South for Technological Empowerment and Innovation Capacity,” will analyze the mutually supportive roles countries of the emerging South can play in this promising area of economic growth including through more effective technology transfer.
The UNCTAD Technology and Innovation Report 2012 also focuses on how South-South collaboration can help address key capacity questions faced by developing countries. The information and analysis contained in the report mark a welcome contribution to the efforts now getting under way to establish a set of Sustainable Development Goals and to outline a post-2015 development agenda.
