Almost two months since the day was commemorated by the global ICT community, the Communications Commission of Kenya (CCK) has announced that it will host a 2-day “Women, Girls and ICT” workshop in Nairobi.
The workshop, set for Nairobi’s Hilton Hotel, will come 2 months after the global ICT community joined the ITU in marking the “Girls in ICT Day” on Thursday April 25, 2013.
Below is the CCK announcement about the workshop:
“The Commission recognizes that every person living in Kenya has the right to equal access to information as stipulated in the Constitution. Women and girls face various challenges, which deny them the opportunity to fully enjoy access to and use of ICTs.
In an effort to address these challenges, the Commission will facilitate a two (2) day workshop whose theme is Women, Girls and ICTs. Participants and presenters are requested to register here.”
For those interested, please register to attend and contribute to the discussions and deliberations.
