Youth from Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda have until Sunday January 31 to submit their entries for the World Bank’s #Blog4Dev contest through which the bank seeks to get the youth within the 18 – 28 years age group to share their ideas on how to boost opportunities for this demographic.
The youth drawn from the three countries can participate in the contest by writing a 500-word essay on “how you would create a brighter future for youth in your home country” and submitting the story for consideration via the #Blog4Dev portal.
All entrants have to be resident in the particular country – Kenya, Rwanda or Uganda – to be considered. Submissions from each country will be reviewed by a panel of judges made up of World Bank staff in Kenya, Rwanda, and Uganda to determine the winning entries.
The winning submissions will be selected based on Originality; Creativity as well as Clarity and practical messages.
The top five entries from each country will be published on the WBG’s Nasikiliza blog page, and also promoted on World Bank social media channels between April – May 2016. These will be credited to the respective bloggers.
The overall winner will be rewarded with an all-expense paid trip to Washington, DC to attend the World Bank Group-IMF Spring Meetings in April 2016.
