“WIOCC is a truly customer-focussed organisation, committed to providing enhanced products and services to meet our customers’ evolving needs. By establishing these IXPs, we have made it even easier for our customers to do business around the world”, explained WIOCC COO Ryan Sher.

WIOCC now has direct connection to over 1,100 more networks through Equinix’s Ashburn Virginia Internet Exchange, an additional 700 networks on AMS-IX (Amsterdam Internet Exchange), over 650 on DE-CIX (Deutscher Commercial Internet Exchange in Frankfurt) and more than 160 on NYIIX (New York International Internet eXchange).

“These IXPs make even more bandwidth available to WIOCC’s international carrier and ISP customers, who can also now access a wider pool of content providers and services that rely on high-speed, low-cost connectivity”, concluded WIOCC’s Ryan Sher.

Firmly established as Africa’s carriers’ carrier, WIOCC provides international and African telcos and internet service providers with unrivalled, high-speed, resilient and diverse capacity into, within and out of Africa.

Operating exclusively as a wholesaler, WIOCC offers carriers affordable, reliable connectivity to over 500 locations across 30 African countries – utilising more than 55,000km of terrestrial fibre and 40,000km of submarine fibre-optic cable. WIOCC’s international network reach currently extends to 100 cities in 29 countries in Europe and more than 700 cities in 70 countries globally.

Through strategic investments in the EASSy, EIG and WACS submarine cables and terrestrial infrastructure in Europe and Africa, WIOCC has created a unique, diversity-rich, high-capacity, low-latency network, extending seamless regional and international services the length of Africa’s coastline, to Europe and the rest of the world.
