Dell anticipates a more central role for IT in organizational profitability

Dell and Intel, in conjunction with global analyst IDC, hosted more than 70 guests at the ‘Future-Ready IT Enterprise Solutions’ conference. Held at the Villa Rosa Kempinski hotel in Nairobi, the event featured presentations and solutions showcases designed to advise Kenyan and East Africa businesses on how to implement a future-ready IT infrastructure.

According to Adnane Alaoui the Dell Solutions Director for Middle East, Turkey & Africa, Dell is increasing its focus in the region to meet the demand for innovative IT solutions which is a reflection of the positive local economic conditions new and established businesses are experiencing currently.

“Kenya and the East Africa region is experiencing solid growth and strong economic conditions, with GDP expected to increase 7 percent or more this year” says Adnane Alaoui, Dell Solutions Director for Middle East, Turkey & Africa. New and established businesses are benefiting from healthy levels of consumer spending, as well as considerable public and private investment. The region is developing an increasingly sophisticated business infrastructure and Dell is accordingly increasing its focus, and expanding its presence, in the region to better meet customer demand,” said Alaoui, adding “Dynamic businesses want dynamic IT, and our Future-Ready Enterprise solutions provide customers with a modular, software-defined foundation which adapts to business needs that change over time. The Future-Ready Enterprise Solutions conference was a great opportunity for us to share with customers our unique portfolio, which offers end-to-end solutions from the data center to the device.”

In today’s world, a company’s success is driven by the ability to innovate and adapt over time and key to achieving that is flexible and scalable IT. Unlike other vendor approaches which bind businesses to rigid or closed systems, Dell’s end-to-end solutions offerings are designed to be future-ready, with scalability, integration and automation built-in.

At the Future-Ready Enterprise Solutions conference, Dell spokespeople presented on a range of topics affecting businesses in Kenya and across the world, including: ‘The Future-Ready Strategy and Role of the CIO in the Cloud Era’, ‘The New Generation of Business End-user Computing’ and ‘IT Lifecycle Services’. Co-hosts Intel delivered a presentation entitled ‘Workplace Transformation’ and IDC shared insights on the ‘Enterprise IT Transformation in East Africa’.

Delegates had the opportunity to meet one-on-one with subject matter experts from Dell, Intel and IDC, as well as watch solutions demos, and hear directly from end-user customers during a panel discussion which explored the Future Ready Enterprise.

Martin Mutiga of CBA commented: “The event is a must for progressive business professionals”. He added “Today’s business landscape is very dynamic and only organizations ready and willing to change will survive as their technology has to be future ready”.

His sentiments were echoed by Ramco Grout CTO Kimani Gichia who noted that it’s imperative that the complexity of IT products and solutions in the new age can be simplified to meet specific business needs affording more time to organizations to focus on business objectives.”
