Paul Kukubo, former CEO of Kenya ICT Board, appointed to CA board

Paul Kukubo, the founding CEO of the Kenya ICT Board (the precursor to the Kenya ICT Authority), is among seven people who have been appointed to the board of the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA).

Others appointed to the CA Board are Kentice Tikolo, Mugambi Nandi, David Cheruiyot Kitur, Prof Levi Obonyo, Christpoher Guyo Huka and Patricia Kimama.

The appointments, made by ICT CS Joseph Mucheru, are contained in the Kenya Gazette of May 4, 2016. The team will serve for a three-year term.

Kukubo, who is also a co-founder and former CEO of 3Mice Interactive, served as CEO of the ICT Board from 2007 to 2013 before leaving to join Rwanda-based East Africa Exchange in a similar capacity from mid 2013 to mid 2014. He’s currently the chairman of Rafica, a Nairobi-based ICT consultancy firm.

The only board member retained from the previous team is Levi Obonyo, a communications lecturer at Daystar University.

Apart from Levi Obonyo, other members of the previous board which was disbanded after the courts declared it illegal in May 2015 were Wilbert Kipsang Choge, Peter Mutie Kipra, Ken Nyaundi, Grace Munjuri, Eng Hellen Kinoti and Beatrice Opee.
