Tigo launches mobile game platform in Tanzania

Tigo Tanzania has announced the launch of its mobile games platforms dubbed ‘Tigo Games.’ Tigo Games is an app and web-based service that contains rich games content for Tigo customers with internet-enabled devices including Android-based smartphones and tablets as well as feature phones running Java.

Over 800 games are available with the most popular being Buddy Man, Cut the Rope, Zombie Run and Tokyo Drift.

During the launch of the new product in Dar es Salaam, Tigo GM Diego Gutierrez said, “This is another first for Tigo Tanzania in offering interactive gaming to our customer at an affordable subscription fee. Tigo is committed to bring exciting content to our customers, enabling them to fully enjoy the benefits of having a smartphone or a feature phone”.

“With Tigo now leading in 4G LTE network expansion in the country and the service being available in 12 major cities, we believe our customers will benefit greatly from the high speed internet that enables them to download and play these extremely fascinating games,” added Gutierrez.

Tigo Games is accessible either via a subscription model or a once-off game purchase. The VIP Games Club provides our customers with optional daily, weekly, or monthly subscriptions. The VIP Games Club will allow them to download unlimited games for the duration of their chosen package. The second option is to purchase a game as a once-off payment.

The customers will then enjoy the game as long as they wish at no extra charge. Only data charges will apply. During the launch of the VIP Games Club, Tigo customers can to enjoy a free 7-days subscription by logging to the Tigo Games portal.
