Hacks/Hackers Nairobi meetup to discuss use of ICTs in humanitarian work

Hacks/Hackers Nairobi will hold a side event related to the on-going World Humanitarian Summit in Istanbul, Turkey, this Friday, May 27, 2016 at the Nairobi Garage from 5.30pm.

Co-Hosted by Code for Africa and UN OCHA’s Humanitarian Data Exchange, the meetup is intended to  offer an opportunity for attendees to interact with digital pioneers who are using data and simple tech tools to transform lives across the continent. Attendees will also learn about the various ways they can get involved in world-changing projects and / or share projects they are already involved in.

Th meet-up will highlight stories from people working in Kenya and East Africa on the challenges and opportunities of working with ICTs in the humanitarian and development sectors.

The event is open to humanitarians, technologists, innovators, journalists, students and local leaders.
