Kilimall marketing boss quits, to set up own branding firm  




Larry Liu, the marketing director for Kilimall Kenya, has left the online retailer and is said to be working on setting up a branding firm to help Chinese-owned companies in Kenya.

Sources familiar with the development state that Larry, part of the original team which set up Kilimall Kenya in mid 2014, is leaving the company but with the option to return if need be.

A replacement has not yet been made following his departure even though it is assumed that Gladys Liu, the Marketing manager, could be holding the role in an acting capacity until a new marketing director is identified and appointed.

Larry has left Kilimall Kenya after the leading the opening of two other subsidiaries in Uganda and Nigeria.

Kilimall, touted as Kenya’s largest online shopping mall with a mission is to become the #1 e-commerce platform in Africa, offers phones, computers, clothing, shoes, home appliances, books, healthcare as well as baby and personal care products.
