The Nairobi City County has launched a new online permit management system which aims to make the process of applying for and getting building permits easier and convenient for property developers.
The system – eDevelopment Permit Management System(e-DPMS) – was launched yesterday by Nairobi County Governor Dr Evans Kidero.

“Today I launched the eDevelopment Permit Management System(e-DPMS). This system enables one to submit Building plans or any other development application online. This system will greatly aid in ease of doing business. The system will allow applications submitted by planners, architects and engineers to be automatically routed to the various departments of planning within Nairobi County and other outside agencies for vetting and approval,” wrote Governor Kidero on his Facebook page, adding that the system “will not only put Nairobi on the roadmap to innovation and smart city status, also ensure an improvement in service delivery, transparency and integrity.”
The e-DPMS portal is however still under development and will go live on Monday November 28, 2016.
At the moment, when you click on the url, you get this message: “Wea re currently upgrading the Construction Permit System to the newer and more inclusive development permit system. Plan submission and approval is not available during this period upto the planned completion date of 28 November 2016 at 8am…”
