MEF announces winners of its 13th annual Meffys international awards




The Mobile Ecosytem System (MEF) over the weekend announced the 2016 winners of its 13th annual Meffys international awards which measure commercial success and recognise innovation across the mobile ecosystem.

Entries from 30 countries were received across the nine award categories with outstanding examples of emerging technologies, apps, products and services in mobile across all sectors.

Selected by an independent judging panel of over 50 international journalists, analysts & industry experts, the winners included enterprises, telcos, technology & service providers and start-ups showcasing the ever-evolving diversity of the mobile ecosystem.

Supported by BiP and Mozilla and hosted by tech futurist Shivvy Jervis, the 2016 Meffys featured fireside chats with the winners to illuminate their learnings and different use cases for the mobile platform. Bango, Deutsche Telekom, Kasisto, Opera, Orange, Turkcell and VTREE all picked up Innovation Awards whilst Hiya and OpenMarket with Virgin Trains picked up MEF’s inaugural Global Initiative Awards.The Meffys featured an interactive demo zone with finalists highlighting advances in IOT, mHealth, engagement and other categories and marked the finale of MEF London Week, which assembled members and delegates from around the world for a a focused programme to advance MEF’s flagship initiatives on Messaging and Consumer Trust.

  • Mobile Messaging – OpenMarket for Virgin Trains – Project Surge
