Journalists in Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania and Zambia can apply for a grant from the impactAFRICA initiative.
The impactAFRICA initiative, from the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) and Code for Africa, seeks investigative story pitches, as part of a US $500,000 program for pioneering African data journalism that tackles development issues.
The fourth of four annual calls for applications is open and 10 projects will be shortlisted from the applications. Three additional cash prizes will be awarded to the best of these projects: for best investigative report; best data-driven story; and best service journalism project.
Proposals should focus on in-depth reportage into hidden, neglected or under-reported health and development issues.
The deadline for entries is March 15, 2017 and more information about the grant is available here.
