Uber Kenya has organised a CSR drive to benefit SOS Children’s Villages in Nairobi and Mombasa. As part of the initiative, organised through UberGIVING in Nairobi and Mombasa, well-wishers made their donations today – Saturday, December 10 between 9am and 12noon.
“It’s that time of year when we feel like giving, but don’t always know how…We’re making it easy for Kenyans to give back this December by picking up donations and taking them to where they are most needed. With UberGIVING, we will help you give back with the tap of a button,” said Uber in the announcement.
The donations consisted of non-perishable food, children’s toys, stationery and toiletries.
Well-wishers were required to package their donations in bags or boxes; open the Uber app between 9am – 12pm Saturday December 10; swipe right on the Uber app and select UberGIVING; request a ride (as usual) after which a driver would come at the specific pick-up location to collect the donation. There’s no charge to one’s account for requesting the UberGIVING service.
