Sony World photo contest accepting entries till January 10, 2017




Professional, amateur and young photographers can submit their work to the Sony World photo contest, part of the World Photography Organisation.

Participants can submit work for judging in one of five categories: professional, open, youth, national and student focus.

The professional category winner will receive US $25,000 while the winner of the open competition will be awarded US $5,000. The winning Student Focus photographer will receive EUR 30,000 (US $31,674) worth of Sony photography equipment for his or her university.

In addition, winners will receive photo equipment from Sony, flights to London, accommodation in a hotel and VIP tickets to attend the Sony World Photography Awards gala ceremony in the spring of 2017. The winners’ entries will be presented at the World Photo London exhibition.

The deadline for the student focus competition was Monday December 5, 2016. For the youth and open competitions, the deadline is January 5, 2017 while the submission deadline for the professional competition comes five days later on January 10, 2017.
