While HMD Global is using this year’s Mobile World Congress – #MWC2017 – to introduce new Nokia-branded handsets running on Android including a revamped version of the once-popular Nokia 3310, Samsung has set its sights a month away from now.
In an announcement which features a video teaser, Samsung has informed its fans and potential customers that it will unveil a new device in the Galaxy range on March 29.
“On March 29, Samsung Electronics will unveil the newest Galaxy as part of its endeavor to unbox your phone… The forthcoming addition to the Galaxy lineup represents the start of a new era, by reshaping the device that has over the years become an indispensable tool in our everyday lives,” states the message accompanying the 17 second video with no audio.
“To celebrate the launch of the soon-to-be-revealed device, Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2017 will take place at 11:00 a.m. EDT in New York on March 29, 2017. A live streaming of the event will be available at www.samsung.com/galaxy…” adds the message.
The new addition to the Galaxy family will join others who came before it including Galaxy S and S Edge, Galaxy Note5, Galaxy Tab S3 and the ill-fated Galaxy Note 7 which had to be recalled due to faulty batteries.
