Lenovo’s Moto Z now available in Kenya, retails at Kshs 62,000




Lenovo, through its subsidiary, Motorola Mobility, has introduced the Moto Z smartphone along with the new Moto Mods range of accessories in the Kenyan market.

The Moto Mods include the JBL SoundBoost speakers so users can take the party with them, the Insta-Share Projector to enable content share, power packs from Incipio for consumers to not out of battery, and the Hasselblad True Zoom, that enables aspiring photographers to capture photos on the go.

The Moto Z smartphone is equipped with Qualcomm SnapdragonTM 820 processor, 4GB of RAM and 32 GB or 64 GB of storage inside. The microSD card is expandable up to 2 TB. The phone comes with a 13MP camera at the back with optical image stabilization and laser autofocus while the front-facing 5MP camera includes a wide-angle lens.

The device, which retails for Kshs 62,000, has a water-repellant coating, which shields it from rain, splashes or spills. The Moto Z’s battery can run for up to 30 hours before it is recharged. The entry-level version of the Moto Z – Moto Z Play – costs Kshs 49,000.

Hasselblad True Zoom – Developed together with Hasselblad to add advanced imaging capabilities to the phone, its features 10x Optical Zoom and a Xenon flash. With True Zoom, users also get free access to Hasselblad’s Phocus software for streamlined editing control and the highest quality output. Retailing at Kshs 26,000, it also comes with automatic backup and unlimited free storage for two years with Google Photos.

JBL SoundBoost – This includes a built-in kickstand that is guaranteed to make videos and music more immersive. The JBL SoundBoost includes 10 hours of battery life that allows people to listen longer without using their phone’s battery. Costing Kshs 15,000, the speakerphone also ensures that calls come in loud and clear no matter the location.

Insta-Share Projector – Snaps easily onto the Moto Z phone and enables instant sharing of photos and videos. The Mod projects up to 70” on any flat surface. The integrated kickstand enables the user to project at any angle which thereby allowing friends and family to gather together to watch their favorite pictures, shows, and even games. The Insta-Share Projector, costing Kshs 26,000, comes with built-in battery that provides users with up to one extra hour of screen time before using the phone’s battery.

Motorola Mobility LLC was acquired by Lenovo in 2015 and is the division responsible for designing and manufacturing all Moto-branded mobile handsets.
