Solar energy solutions firm Mobisol opens new outlet in Kisumu, Kenya

Solar energy solutions provider Mobisol has launched its retail store in Kisumu. The outlet was officially launched in an opening ceremony on at the store’s location at Jubilee House along Oginga Odinga street in the presence of Kisumu County Governor Jack Ranguma and various county officials.

The event showcased Mobisol’s commitment to affordable, reliable and environmentally-friendly rural electrification in Kenya: At the launch, Mobisol displayed its high-performing solar home and business systems, as well their ultra-efficient DC household, entertainment and business appliances.

Speaking during the launch event, Mobisol’s East Africa’s CEO Henrik Axelsson noted that the company has invested heavily in innovation and research to enable customers’ access to high-quality products and a comprehensive user experience, citing the reliability and consistency of German technology over the years.

Established in Kenya in 2016, Mobisol boasts of higher capacity and much more powerful products sizes then those of similar providers on the market. The opening of the store comes at a time when there is a trend within Kenyan communities towards a transition to renewable energy sources.

Governor Jack Ranguma noted that the launch of the Kisumu branch affirms the success of solar public-private partnerships, which benefit the community as a whole. He urged the public to consider solar energy to help save on energy related expenditure for an improved lifestyle.

“The biggest household expenditure of rural communities is kerosene. Additionally, with the growth of the real estate market in the country, I would like to urge contractors to consider installing solar panels, which are a clean, safe and renewable energy source. This will not only help communities save on energy, but the diverse products create a source of income. For example, Kisumu fans of football can now enjoy watching matches on large solar powered television, while charging their phones,” said Ranguma.
