Azuri solar-powered TVs now available at Mobicom Kenya outlets




Azuri Technologies recently announced a new partnership with Mobicom Kenya to make its Solar TV system available in 87 Mobicom shops country-wide.

For only Kshs 99 per day, rural off-grid customers are now able to access Zuku satellite Smart+ entertainment with 54 TV and 21 radio channels on an optimised 24-inch screen. Azuri PayGo solar system also includes four bright home lights, mobile-phone charging and a rechargeable radio and torch.

As part of the deal, customers can walk into any Mobicom store and sign up, after which staff will install the Azuri TV system and demonstrate its use. Weekly payments can be made using mobile money.

Azuri’s CEO Simon Bransfield-Garth said: “Since we launched last year, many customers have told us Azuri’s Solar TV has changed their lives. I am delighted that with Mobicom we can now make Azuri TV available to more people anywhere – from Lamu to Kisumu and Kajiado to Lodwar.”

Rufus Maina, CEO of Mobicom commented: “In order to add value and enhance our telecommunication distribution business,  Mobicom is adding a PayGo home TV system which will also enable our customers to conveniently charge their mobile phones. We chose to partner with Azuri because of the comprehensive nature of its product and its reputation for quality.”

Mobicom Kenya, with its vast distribution network of 87 outlets across the country, is able to adequately cover over 90% of Kenya’s population making it the country’s largest telecoms dealer.
