As part of an ongoing effort to support environmental initiatives, LG Electronics has donated Kshs 100,000 to Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) towards local heritage and environmental conservation programs at Nairobi National Park.
More than 40 LG employees in partnership with over 250 Friends of Nairobi National Park (FONNAP) also took part in a clean up exercise at Nairobi National Park to mark the World Environment Day ahead on June 5, 2017 – World wide celebration day- aligning with UNEP’s theme of ‘Connecting people to Nature’.

Speaking during the cheque handover and ahead of clean up exercise at Nairobi National Park, LG Electronics MD for East and Central Africa, Janghoon Chung reitereated that the firm is committed to promoting the understanding that people are central to changing attitudes towards environmental conservation, and added that LG will spare no effort in advocating partnerships that will ensure preservation of the environment for a clean, safer and more prosperous future.
“Global companies like LG need to remain at the forefront of social and environmental contribution, and they must lead as examples with authenticity within the global community. LG strongly believes in responsible environmental stewardship and in line with this has identified environmental conservation as one among the global CSR pillars. With World Environment Day bringing together the global community to make a global impact, we are certain that our ongoing efforts not only support the environment but make lasting changes among our employees to become forever agents of positive social change,” he said.
Staying true to its CSR slogan – Life’s Good with LG – the company aims to continue to actively contribute and sustain its integrated CSR initiatives in 2017 by continuing to support and engage with various community initiatives across the Middle East and Africa region.
The company actively participates and contributes to global initiatives like World Environment Day with over 41 business sites in 24 countries across the globe participating in this global initiative last year.
Having first announced its environmental vision in 1994, LG has since been practicing environmental management through researching and introducing environmentally friendly products and by reducing the environmental impact that occurs during business activities.
