
Azuri Technologies, a provider of PayGo solar solutions provider across sub Saharan Africa, has announced the appointment of Liam Hickey in the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
As the latest senior member of the management team, Hickey has significant experience in both launching new enterprises as well as restructuring established businesses to expand global reach and profitability in emerging markets.
In this new position, he will be responsible for optimising Azuri’s funding strategy to accelerate the company’s already rapid growth across the 12 African countries where it has a presence.

A qualified Chartered Accountant, Hickey has worked with private investors and financial institutions in many countries across East and West Africa to raise funding and create structured financial instruments to support the development of sustainable, private sector enterprise.
Hickey‘s most recent posting was at Digicel, a Caribbean telco where he was the CFO for the firm’s subsidiary in Trinidad and Tobago from mid 2014 to mid 2016, a total of 2 years. Prior to this, he held various roles at Ericsson from 2000 till 2009, having joined the Swedish technology firm as the GM for Ericsson Consulting and rising to the position of Regional VP in charge of Armenia when he left.
