Sophos has been recognized at the PLC Awards 2017 as the winner of the Innovation in Technology award. Sophos is the first company in the PLC award’s 32-year history to win this award in successive years. The award, which was announced at a city event on March 15, 2018, acknowledges Sophos’ continued focus on innovation in next-generation endpoint and network security to drive growth and market success, since its initial public listing in 2015.
The PLC Awards for 2017 were extended to offer recognition to all publicly quoted companies on the main market, from fledging indices through to FTSE 100, for their success and outstanding achievements throughout the year. Winners are selected by a panel of investment and financial services professionals from leading institutions in the UK.

In January 2018, Sophos announced the latest version of Intercept X, its next-generation endpoint security solution driven by artificial intelligence and advanced deep learning. This technology makes Intercept X more effective than solutions with traditional machine learning capabilities, giving it the highest detection rates with the lowest false-positive rates in the market.
The PLC Awards has been held at The Grosvenor House for each of the past 32 years and is aimed at all quoted companies listed on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange (LSE). The success of the awards has led to it being broadened out this year to include FTSE 100 companies as well as the FTSE 250, FTSE Small Cap and Fledgling indices. The main aim of the annual event is to give all Main Market publicly-quoted companies – of whatever size – the chance to be rewarded and recognised for their successes and achievements.
The event is sponsored by PwC, London Stock Exchange and numerous City broking and banking houses, hence the acronym ‘PLC’.
