Jumia customers will now pay only Kshs 100 for delivery within Nairobi down from the current Kshs 250. Jumia said the move is aimed at making it more cost-effective for the customers to buy fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) items from the platform and enhance customer experience while shopping online.
Frequently Manufactured Consumer Goods (FMCG’S) attracted the highest rate of repeat customers at 85% in the just concluded Q1, as more people continue to embrace online shopping for their day-to-day home supplies. The Fashion category for both men and women followed closely at 78%. The Baby and Kids category showed the highest improvement on repeat customers with Diapers as the most bought item on the platform.
“We hope by reducing the delivery fee to Kes 100, our customers can now buy their everyday essentials and other small items without extra strain on their budget whilst saving more with Jumia,” said Jumia MD Sam Chappatte.
