ESET picked by customers during 2019 Gartner peer review of endpoint protection platforms

ESET, a global cybersecurity solutions vendor, has been named one of the best online protection platforms according to a review by ICT users globally in the 2019 Gartner Insights Customers’ Choice for Endpoint Protection Platforms.

The Gartner Peer Insights is a platform for rating and reviews of enterprise technology solutions by end-user professionals for enduser professionals.

The recognition comes at a time when Kenyan organisations are shifting their focus to training stakeholders and enhancing in-house technical capabilities for anticipating, detecting, responding and containing cyber threats.

Given the number of SMEs and large organisations in the country facing cyber security threats – in relation to the 1,700 certified security professionals in Kenya – it is clear that Kenyan businesses are an easy target for both local and international hackers. The impact of such hacking includes: driving up the electrical bills; slowing down machines; and detrimental effects to hardware, as the machines can burn out or run more slowly, according to a 2018 report by Serianu.

“ESET’s experience of over 30 years in protecting end points is an important fact when considering an Anti-Virus solution. It is imperative that you rely on tried and tested solutions as new cyber threats emerge every hour of every day. This award only goes to show that the solutions we provide are best in breed and it really does highlight that our customers experience a low total cost ownership throughout the lifecycle of their licenses, right from proof of concept through to staff training and maintenance,” Karen Cherry, the ESET East Africa CEO, remarked.

The users who rated ESET include IT professionals and business owners who have had experience purchasing, implementing or using ESET in their day to day activities online. These users recognised ESET for ease of implementation, reliability, timeliness of vendor response, and quality of technical support. ESET received recognition within the Midsize Enterprise category as well as the Europe, Middle East and Africa category.

“I trust in this application for both my personal and work environment. It protects our corporate network and gives us that peace of mind knowing that all our data will be safe”, the Sport Leader Digital Marketing in the Retail Industry said.

“ESET has worked very well in our organization. It has given the end users the capacity to ensure that our documents are secure and that there is no underlying vulnerability”, Chief Solutions Manager, Services Industry reiterated.

ESET Chief Business Officer Ignacio Sbampato explained that the recognition is a testament for the company’s dedication in providing enterprises with reliable, cutting edge security solutions. “To see such a positive response from customers and to know our solutions are keeping organisations safe is why we do what we do“, he added.
