DFS Lab to host 5-day Mojaloop hackathon in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania in April

Digital Financial Services Lab (DFS Lab) is hosting a hackathon in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, from April 8 to 12, 2019. The Hackathon will offer participants an in-depth look at Mojaloop, an open-source software for financial services companies, government regulators, and others taking on the challenges of interoperability and financial inclusion.

The application deadline is Thursday February 14, 2019.

DFS Lab targets growth-stage startups and tech companies to join the five-day session to work with the team behind the Mojaloop platform at the bootcamp.

Mojaloop, supported by the Gates Foundation, aims to create an interoperable payments systems for mobile-first emerging markets to address the biggest challenges for retail financial services.

The event, a design sprint and hackathon, will offer participants an in-depth look at Mojaloop, an opportunity to build solutions in collaboration with the Mojaloop platform developers and a chance to prototype products and features on the Mojaloop stack.

An expert group of mentors will also join the Mojaloop Bootcamp to support the selected teams on the technical side as well as the design side.
