HMD Global has announced the availability of Nokia C1 in the Kenya, a smartphone which the company says is “designed to entertain, anytime, anywhere.”
Featuring a 5.45” display, the phone will be retailing from Kshs 6,000 and comes with 1GB RAM and 16GB internal storage.
Speaking during the official unveil, Mark Misumi, the Business Manager, HMD Global, said: “As consumers in Kenya look to upgrade from a feature phone to an affordable 3G experience, we wanted to ensure that we offer them a smartphone that offers the Nokia brand values of quality, reliability and ease of use. We have designed the Nokia C1 as an affordable 3G alternative for these consumers – offering them a combination of a large 5.45” screen and all-day battery life.”
Through the Nokia C1, fans can watch videos and listen to music with ease. With lighter apps and less bloatware, one is able to store up to 3,000 songs or 24 hours of videos for offline consumption, cutting down on data usage. Combined with all-day battery life, the user has enough power to keep them watching, listening and talking throughout the day.
The device comes Android 9 Pie (Go edition) and has fewer pre-installed apps as it’s designed to optimise storage, meaning one can keep more of their favourite content with them. Coming with 3G connectivity and all-day battery life, the Nokia C1 really is an ideal device for entertainment, allowing one to keep the chat and apps going from sunrise to sunset.
The phone is built with a durable polycarbonate cover to withstand the knocks of everyday life while the removable cover gives one access to the battery if needed.
It has a 5MP front camera and front facing flash as well as a 5MP rear camera with auto-focus capability.
Android 9 Pie (Go edition) ensures easy access to YouTube Go, helping one to download, enjoy and share videos with limited storage or slower network speeds. This means the owner can watch their favourite videos offline, in addition to using helpful apps like Google Maps on the Google Play Store.
The Nokia C1 is available in Black and Red.
