Nokia 5.3 now available in the local market, retailing at Kshs 23,000

HMD Global has announced the availability of the Nokia 5.3 availability in the Kenyan Market that will retail from Kshs 23,000.

With the Nokia 5.3, one can get up close with the macro lens or capture the entire scene with the ultra-wide 118° lens. The smartphone has rear cameras with 13MP AF (f/1.8, 1.12um), 2MP depth, 5MP (118°) UW, 2MP macro lens camera fixed focus and a front-facing 8MP camera (f/2.0, 1.12um).

Nokia 5.3 has powerful AI imaging that enables the user to take creative shots. AI-powered night mode allows for photography in low light, combining image fusion and explosion stacking to deliver excellent low light performance.

Nokia 5.3 comes with a 6.55” screen ideal for both gaming or streaming content. Nokia 5.3 also comes with a two-day battery life promise, enabling the user to stay connected for 2 days thanks to the 4000mAh2 battery and AI-assisted Adaptive Battery which saves energy for the user’s most used apps.

Like other Nokia phones, and as part of the Android One partnership, Nokia 5.3 is Android 11 ready and will receive guaranteed monthly security updates for three years and OS updates for two years.

In terms of design, Nokia 5.3 has a 2.5D glass front and a scratch-resistant composite back for extended durability. Fans can also choose from three colour variants – Cyan, Sand and Charcoal.

The device, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor, comes with a dedicated Google Assistant Button to quickly access one’s favourite assistant. The Google Assistant’s Ambient Mode provides an always-on-display when the device is charging, which allows for the viewing of calendar entries, commute times and other contextual information without the need to pick up the device.
