StarTimes adds WarnerMedia’s TNT channel to its content portfolio




WarnerMedia has expanded its entertainment offering in Kenya by introducing its Hollywood blockbuster channel, TNT, on payTV platform StarTimes Media.

StarTimes subscribers in Kenya will be able to enjoy an action-driven, pulse-raising slate of movies, mixed with romantic gems and hilarious comedy, alongside original TNT productions.

WarnerMedia has a long-standing relationship with StarTimes with the broadcaster already distributing TOONAMI, the go-to destination for action and animation movie enthusiasts of all ages. The new TNT deal will further diversify its channel offering giving StarTimes’ viewers access to the high-quality blockbuster movie channel offering.

Speaking on the introduction of the new channel, StarTimes regional marketing director Aldrine Nsubuga noted that the launch of TNT on StarTimes demonstrates the brand’s unremitting commitment to deliver premium content to Kenyan subscribers, making top family entertainment accessible to more households across its subscriber base.

“Having TNT on board for our subscribers intensifies our progressive efforts to bolster our content offering for the whole family entertainment as we seek to grow  the value of our bouquet offering to subscribers across the country,” said Nsubuga.

As part of the launch, TNT has an exciting line-up of never-before-seen titles with the premiere of its latest TNT Original Movie, Human Capital; a Fan Month block dedicated to the best titles of Denzel Washington (Remember the TitansDéjà vu, The Hurricane and Fallen); and the reoccurring Film Fight stunt, where in September, an original movie will be faced against one of its sequels, every Friday evening, in a double feature, bringing up sagas such as The TransporterNational Treasure, Karate Kid, and Free Willy.

TNT will be available on StarTimes’ terrestrial platform on Basic Bouquet channel 047 and channel 186 on the satellite platform’s Smart Bouquet offering the best action, thrills, comedy and original movies.
