HMD unveils two entry-level devices – Nokia 3.4 and Nokia 2.4 – in Kenya




HMD Global has announced two new additions to its entry-level smartphone portfolio family, the Nokia 3.4 and Nokia 2.4. HMD has also unveiled a new accessories range and HMD Connect Pro which offers enterprises a secure and transparent global data roaming service.

The new Nokia 2.4 comes with AI imaging, two days’ worth of battery life and a large HD+ screen. For those looking for more, the Nokia 3.4 offers an advanced triple camera with ultra-wide lens, a serious performance upgrade and more screen real estate thanks to the punch-hole screen.

The two entry-level devices have modern features and stunning design in a more accessible, Android-powered future-proof package, and are ideal for consumers seeking affordable, long-lasting purchases.

Nokia 2.4

The Nokia 2 brings modern essentials like advanced AI imaging giving the user a dedicated Night mode and Portrait Editor that lets them art direct their world with its custom shapes and blurred backgrounds – even after they’ve taken their shot; a convenient fingerprint sensor and AI face unlock, offering effortless access and added security, in a durable design that’s not only built to look good but also to last. The Nokia 2.4 gives the user 3 years of monthly security updates and 2 years of OS updates, meaning it’s ready for Android 11 and 12.

Nokia 3.4

The Nokia 3.4 offers a serious performance upgrade thanks to its Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 Mobile Platform. It has a large 6.39” HD+ screen with a punch-hole front camera and a triple rear camera with an ultra-wide lens and AI imaging. The Nokia 3.4 comes with Android 10 OS and like other Nokia smartphones, the device will receive years of security and software upgrades.

HMD has also launched a range of new Nokia-branded audio accessories – including the Nokia Earbuds Lite, Nokia Portable Wireless Speaker with integrated microphone, and new protective cases. The new accessories are all wrapped up in sustainable packaging made from 100% recyclable paper.

The new accessory range also includes the Nokia Clear Case for the Nokia 2.4, Nokia 3.4 and Nokia 8.3 5G, offering device owners increased impact protection and enhanced handling via easy-grip material whilst the seamless ultra-slim lightweight design showcases the phone’s beautiful design. In Kenya, the clear case cover will come as part of the device sales pack. 

To further diversify its services offering, HMD Global has also announced the HMD Connect Pro. Coonect Pro provides an easier way to stay connected across the globe, allowing business device users to keep their smartphones and other devices connected across the globe in a secure and transparent way. The service offers centralised SIM management, giving total control and fraud prevention, with securely routed real-time usage information, live diagnostics and troubleshooting. With over 600 networks across 160 countries, HMD Connect Pro provides full flexibility, transparent and extremely competitive billing and a simple yet robust SIM management console at rates that match customers’ usage needs regardless of how many countries their business operates in.

Still on the device front, HMD has finally launched the Nokia 8.3 5G. Featuring a powerful PureView quad-camera with ZEISS optics giving users an immersive movie-like shots with ZEISS Cinema effects and OZO audio, the Nokia 8.3 5G is ideal for those who want to elevate their creativity. Additionally, all Nokia 8.3 5G owners will receive a free 6-month trial of Google One. Users can capture and edit on the go with faster upload speeds and an additional 100GB of online storage across Google Drive, Gmail, and Google Photos – an all-in-one membership that can be shared with up to five additional people.

  • The Nokia 3.4 is available globally from early October and comes in Fjord, Dusk and Charcoal colour options with 3/32GB, 3/64GB and 4/64GB memory and storage configurations starting at an average global retail price of Kshs 18,000 for 4/64GB range
  • The Nokia 2.4 is available globally from end of September and comes in Dusk, Fjord and Charcoal colour options with 2/32GB and 3/64GB memory and storage configurations starting at an average global retail price of Kshs 14,000 for 2/32GB and Kshs 15,500 for 6/64GB
  • The Nokia 8.3 5G is available globally and comes in Polar Night, priced at an average global retail price of Kshs 69,000 for 8/128 configuration.
