OPPO’s Flash Charging and VOOC technology accords Reno5, Reno5 F users peace of mind

Towards the end of February, smartphone brand OPPO introduced two new models to its Reno series in the Kenyan market, that is Reno5 and Reno5 F. The Reno5 is retailing at Kshs 41,999, while the Reno5 F, which starts selling on March 22, 2021 will retail at Kshs 31,999.

Apart from its impeccable and advanced camera and photography features (some of which we highlighted in our previous post) and which the brand has traditionally been known for since it made its foray into the mobile handset scene, the Reno5 comes with other innovative features and specifications.

Flash Charge and VOOC technology

A feature that is set to really delight those who’re always worried and concerned about their smartphones running out of charge after continuous use is the 50W Flash Charge capability. With this feature, which has a 66.6% higher peak power than the previous generation, ultra-fast 50W Flash Charging can charge Reno5 (as well as the yet-to-be released Reno5 F) from 0% to up to 80% within 31 minutes and charge the device to up to 100% in just 48 minutes. This essentially means that users who’re pressed for time, with urgent business(es) to take care of throughout most of the day can just spare less than an hour (in fact, it’s just 30 minutes) from their schedules and get their batteries charged to over 80% of the capacity.

The OPPO Reno5 and Reno5 F also come with a large 4310mAh battery 30W and VOOC Flash Charge 4.0 technology which allows for all-day use, even for the most demanding users. This thereby does away with the need to keep looking for empty slots and power sockets to insert your charger and get your phone charging during the day, and during important business meetings while in other people’s offices.

OPPO’s VOOC technology launched in 2014, and the over 30 smartphone models that come with the feature, have so far delivered the ultra-fast charging experience to over 175 million users around the globe.

OPPO’s latest flash charging products are already making fast charging more convenient. The tiny 50W Mini SuperVOOC charger can charge smartphones, tablets and even laptops – and is just 10.05mm thick and 82.2mm long, so it easily fits in your pocket.

Additionally, the 65W AirVOOC wireless charger can fully power a 4,000mAh phone battery in 30 minutes – and the 125W flash charger can do the same in just 20 minutes. Each product uses low voltage charging, with a dual-cell structure, and multiple charge pumps and temperature sensors to automatically regulate voltage and dissipate heat.

Memory and Storage capacity

Apart from its charging features and capabilities, the Reno5 (and Reno5 F for that matter) also offer users with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage as default configurations. Together with the 8nm process Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G mobile platform, the phone delivers a speedy performance with a more balanced power consumption.
