Maths is a very important subject, especially for students who have taken Science stream. It is an interesting and challenging subject where some students feel a little difficulty. As the subject needs to be solved and understood, it is not a good choice to start your preparation just the day before the exam.
Class 11 Maths is important for most of the students who want to enter the technological world, as they will have to clear JEE Mains and Advance to get into top universities.
As for the board exams, students must know the distribution of marks for each unit. It will give them an idea of which topics to focus on more and get high scores.

Tips To Revise Just A Day Before The Exam
Practice NCERT: For the board exams, just relying upon the NCERT textbook will yield you high scores. Practice every exercise from each chapter. While the teacher is teaching, they will ask you to circle the important questions or the questions that have been repeated year after year. Just a day before the exam, do not forget to solve those questions at least twice. You can download the NCERT Maths Book Class 11 solutions pdf from any platform online. Revise the derivations of the Trigonometric Identities, Straight Line Concepts, Section formula from Three-Dimensional Geometry, and equations from Conic Sections. Practice all the examples given in between the chapters and make a list of the formulae that are necessary to solve different types of problems in one place.
Focus on High Scoring Sections: Practice the questions that carry more marks such as 4-6 marks per question. These questions will require you to answer in steps. However, if you are not sure about getting the final answers, at least try to write as much as you know. This is because even the given data and steps carry marks.
Design a Plan: Design a study plan in such a way that you cover almost every important topic within few hours. With this, you will have a sense of relief that you have covered most of the topics. It will make you confident about getting the final answer and getting more marks. Do not forget to take 5 minutes of break between each chapter you finish revising.
Solve Previous Year’s Question Papers: The key to get full marks is testing yourself after the final preparation. After you finish your revision, make sure to download the previous year’s question papers. Put yourself on a 3-hour timer and solve the entire question paper. This will help you analyze your performance and make you more confident as you have covered and practised more questions. If you have left any question unanswered, then it will give you a chance to take a step back, revise a particular topic properly and then bounce back.
Write and Learn: Maths is all about practising numerical problems of different types. It is not something you can simply memorize. Even if you do, you will get stuck at a point and it will feel like a dead-end. Be sure to write every step while solving the problems or learning the derivation. Studies have shown that the more you write and learn, the longer the brain tends to maintain the information. Write the formulae also without looking at them. Try to derive how that formula was proved. This way, you will remember better and won’t get stuck anywhere in the middle.
Time Management: Maths is a lengthy subject. Students tend to take time to solve the equation such as finding the roots or solving the equations for finding the values. Hence, time management is very important. Try to solve as many questions as possible with a timer. Note the time you have taken to solve and analyze yourself. Try to reduce the time you take to find the values or the final answer. During the exam, do not waste your time on the questions you are unable to answer. Move on to the next question and come back to it later if time permits.
Avoid Silly Errors: Just to finish their paper in time, most of the students hurry up and rush their paper. They do not verify or try to correct them in the meantime. Most of them note down the given data wrong. This results in solving the question wrong even if the method is right. Try to read the given data correctly and cross verify after noting them down on your answer paper. Most of the students answer the question and leave the final calculation for the end. Solve the complete question and then move on to the next one.
The day before the exam is only for revision of the important topics and solving the question papers or sample papers. Do not sit and learn new topics as it will only confuse you. Your preparation for a subject like Maths should start at least a couple of months ago. A day before the exam, avoid stressing yourself. Try to stay calm and relaxed. If you tend to forget any topic, make a note of those and go through them before you enter the examination hall. Do not mug up answers. Write the answers in steps to attract more marks.
