The one thing that UX designers need, but programmers often don’t, is knowledge of visual design principles. Not everyone needs this background, but it’s helpful for those who are interested in expressing themselves through their work.
One last option that should be mentioned here is data science. Data scientists are incredibly important right now because there are so many ways companies collect information about their customers, and they all make use of what data scientists have learned. Data scientists usually rely on programming skills as well as statistics and analysis methods. That means you’ll need some math to get started! But if you’re good with numbers and enjoy learning new things, this could be an excellent way to use your skills.
It’s important to remember that the job market is always changing. There might not be exactly what you’re looking for right now, but before long other companies will start hiring for similar roles.
