P&L Consulting is a boutique business advisory firm that leverages intelligence and networks to provide strategic communication services to enterprises that are navigating unique business environments. The firm evaluates client’s corporate strategy and financial objectives, before aligning the same with the market trends to design pragmatic communication strategies, which execute the client’s business objectives.

Since it was founded in 2014, P&L Consulting has marked various milestones and recorded a number of triumphs. In May this year, the company achieved a momentous accomplishment by securing a total of four awards across the financial and crisis communication categories at the respected Africa SABRE Awards 2023, held in Lusaka, Zambia.

The business advisory firm demonstrated its exceptional prowess and dedication, earning both a coveted trophy and a certificate of excellence in the Mining and Extractive Industries, as well as the Manufacturing categories.

P&L Consulting was recognized for its outstanding work in providing crucial support to cement manufacturers in presenting a compelling case against the proposed increase of import duty on clinker, a vital raw material in cement production, from the current rate of 10% to 25%. The successful opposition to this increment proposal, championed by certain industry players, safeguarded fair competition within the sector.

Additionally, the firm also emerged victorious with another well-deserved trophy and certificate of excellence in the Financial Communications and Issues Management categories. The accolades were gained in recognition of P&L Consulting’s exemplary handling of the revival of Mumias Sugar, an enterprise recovering from a state of receivership.

The company’s expertise played a pivotal role in skillfully navigating the public and legal challenges surrounding the assignment of the miller’s operational lease to a suitable party, which faced significant contention from dissatisfied parties, particularly unsuccessful bidders. P&L Consulting’s adept crisis management efforts effectively mitigated potential disruptions that could have jeopardized the revival process.

Expressing gratitude on behalf of the firm, Mercy Randa, the firm’s then Managing Partner, acknowledged the continental recognition bestowed upon the company, highlighting the team’s continued demonstration of excellence in the communication industry.

“These awards are a testament to the unwavering dedication and deep understanding that the P&L Consulting team possesses in respect to the unique needs of our clients. Our collective efforts as a team has seen us deliver meaningful campaigns that have centered the operations of our clients. To be recognized for this contribution is humbling and fulfilling,” she said.

Having been established three decades ago, the Sabre Awards Africa, organized by Provoke Media, serves as a distinguished platform to acknowledge excellence in branding, reputation management, and stakeholder engagement across the African region. This esteemed event attracts entries from top agencies throughout the continent, making it the most competitive awards program of its kind. The submissions are evaluated by a panel of industry leaders; whose discerning judgment determines the worthy recipients of these prestigious honors.

In addition to the above, P&L Consulting currently holds the PRSK overall excellence award for 2022. The firm also secured the overall campaign of the year award, as well as two other awards in the Public Affairs and Crisis and Reputation Campaigns of the Year categories, at the PRSK Excellence gala, held towards the conclusion of the previous year.
