Airtel Kenya raises single mobile money transaction limits from Kshs 150,000 to Kshs 250,000

Airtel Money Kenya, a mobile money services provider in Kenya will revise the platform’s per transaction limit to Kshs 250,000 from the previous Kshs 150,000 per transaction.

The changes will be effective from September 1, 2023. The change in the per transaction limit comes after successful engagements with the CBK and against the backdrop of the recent review of daily transaction limits from Kshs 300,000 to Kshs 500,000.

Transaction charges for this band shall remain similar to those that were previously charged in the Kshs 70,001 to Kshs 150,000 band. With the increase of the per transaction limit, Airtel Money customers will experience convenience as they will not have to go through the hassle of breaking large transactions into multiple smaller transactions.

“The incorporation of the Kshs 150,001 – Kshs 250,000 band of transactions without any further transaction charges is part of our strive to empower our customers with flexible and personalized solutions while at the same time delivering to them exceptional value for their money. That signifies our commitment towards convenience and affordability,” said Airtel Money Kenya MD Anne Kinuthia-Otieno on the announcement of the revised per transaction limits.

The offering will be essential for SMEs and individuals alike, allowing them to efficiently pay suppliers, employees and transfer money to other persons. Airtel’s commitment to affordability is a driver in offering unmatched value for money, so everyone can make transactions without worrying about cost. Further, Airtel remains dedicated to offering unparalleled customer experiences with innovative solutions.
