Winners of the fifth Belt and Road Initiative’s short video contest announced 




Ninety-nine entries submitted to the Fifth Belt and Road Initiative Short Video Competition were recently awarded the Integration of Civilizations Award, The Most Beautiful BRI Co-builders Award, Voice of the Generation Z Award, Popularity Award (China), Popularity Award (Overseas), The Best Technology Award, Excellent Work Award. Eight organizations were awarded the Communicator Award, Excellent Work Award, and ten other prizes.

Since being launched in June this year, the competition has collected more than 1,000 entries from nearly 100 countries and regions worldwide. The numbers of participating countries and entries, as well as the quality of entries reached unprecedented levels this year.

The total number of global broadcasts of the contest entries exceeded 1.3 billion, of which nearly 200 million were broadcast overseas. The competition records the fruitful achievements of the Belt and Road Initiative(BRI), and explains the friendship of builders from different countries. It is a gift to the 10th anniversary of the BRI.

The 2023 edition of the competition is themed “Open Up a New Chapter Together through Connectivity.” It is jointly sponsored by the China Public Diplomacy Association, the News Center of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC), and Global Times Online, supported by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the United Mexican States.

The event is co-sponsored by Office of the Cyberspace Affairs Commission of CPC Wuxi Municipal Committee, the Foreign Affairs Office of Wuxi Municipal People’s Government, the Cyberspace Affairs Commission of Xishan District, the Cultural Exchange Network of Cambodia and China, the Center for Cambodian Studies of Beijing Foreign Studies University, and  Sihanoukville Special Economy Zone in Cambodia. Kuaishou is the exclusive voting platform of the competition, and StarTimes is the media partner of the competition.

This year’s competition has set up five overseas sub-competitions in Cambodia, Mexico, Egypt, Papua New Guinea and Croatia, with a number of works gaining a wide influence overseas.

The awarding ceremony of the Fifth Belt and Road Initiative Short Video Competition will be held in Chengdu, Sichuan province, as a tribute to the 10th anniversary of the BRI.
